Mijo Zagorec, Dražen Josipović, Josip Majer

Abstract

The significance of saving thermal energy is stressed as it can generally be applied for all purposes, especially for heating rooms and water in buildings. Basic terms used in power generation sector are defined. It is stressed that the consumption of thermal energy in buildings is steadily increasing. Measures that can be applied to save thermal energy in buildings are presented and explained. A special emphasis is placed on the fact that the use of solar energy and wind energy, which are the most significant sources of renewable energy, is still far from sufficient in our country.
