Numerical model for calculating width of voids in concrete elements

Jure Radnić, Lada Markota, Alen Harapin

Abstract

A general model for calculating width of voids in traditionally reinforced, prestressed composite concrete elements subjected to bending load is presented. Cross sections can be of any shape, with any position of reinforcement and eccentric external force, and the bonding may be conducted in several phases. The exposed model and the specially developed computer program CW were checked with results of experimental testing of reinforced-concrete elements subjected to pure bending and centric tension.
