Behaviour of composite materials subjected to combined load

Vesna Lacković, Vicko Šimić

Abstract

Experimental study of mechanical properties of a composite material (glass fibre reinforced polyester laminate) subjected to uniaxial and multiaxial stress is described. The limit state analysis of an orthotropic composite material subjected to biaxial stress was conducted according to the Goldenblat - Kopnov theory of strength which - as demonstrated in this research - is best suited for the material under study. The good correspondence of results obtained in this study is emphasized.
