Modeling actual traffic load on road bridges

Damir Markulak, Boris Androić

Abstract

Two models for the determination of actual road traffic load in Croatia, based on the collection and analysis of statistical data, are proposed. These models are used for estimating reliability of bridges from the standpoint of ultimate limit load, serviceability limit state, and fatigue load of bridges. The deterministic and probabilistic alternatives are given for both models. Proposed models are implemented, as a random line of vehicles, into a computer simulation of actual traffic load effects
