Use of steel fibers in the primary support of tunnels
Abstract
The study of shotcrete reinforced with steel fibers is presented. The analyses have shown that the use of the reinforced concrete is more advantageous when compared to steel fabric reinforcement. Such shotcrete has been used in the world for ten years now as a replacement for steel fabric. First studies of fiber reinforced concrete conducted in our country are presented. The studies show that this concrete presents more advantages that the fabric reinforcement. This type of shocrete is currently used in the Sveti Rok tunnel.
