Statistical analysis of the Bosiljevo - Split motorway route

Damir Pološki, Željko Stepan

Abstract

The process of statistical sample generation based on 50 variables, originating from the digital record of main axes for the Motorway A1 between Bosiljevo and Split, is presented in the paper. The methods of descriptive and mathematical statistics are used to describe the modern motorway route definition model based on the method of circles. Possibilities for improving the plan geometry are presented, and variables leading to an optimum solution are given. The finding relating to the maximum length of chlotoides, and pointing to the lack of Croatian standards in the field of design, is also presented.
