Bundek Bridge - a spatial steel structure

Abstract

The design of the Bundek Bridge in Zagreb, as based on the first-prize winning design solution, is presented. The spatial steel structure selected for the Bundek Bridge is a novel and original solution. Principal technical characteristics of the bridge, and creation of the load bearing system based on architectural vision of the way Zagreb will look in the future, are described. The urban design of the planned bridge is explained, and benefits to be gained in traffic operated between the Sava banks and the existing bridges, are described.
