Elastomechanical properties of fiber-reinforced polymer composites

Mladenko Rak, Joško Krolo, Sead Demirović

Abstract

The procedure for determining states of stress and strain in layered, fibber-reinforced composites is described in the paper. A special attention is consecrated to the elastomechanical properties of composites formed of polyester resins and glass fibers. The procedure for defining stiffness coefficient of a composite cross section by means of appropriate properties of the elementary layer, is presented. The procedure is additionally supported by experimental data about elastic properties as obtained through elementary layer testing
